Budo South Martial Arts
Budo South Martial Arts is a Tauranga Club offering teaching in Taekwondo, Hapkido, Haidong Gumdo.
What an action-packed and fun grading! There was blood and sweat, but instead of tears, we were met with lots of smiles and laughter. This year, our club had an incredible competition season, with the kids bringing immense pride to themselves, their parents, and the entire club.
On behalf of all the students, I would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Master Garry for his invaluable mentorship, guidance, and care. A huge thank you to Masters Ute, Rosemary, and Connor for your exceptional Poomsae coaching and master classes. Master Jamie, your mentorship of our sparring team has truly paid off, as they've excelled in competitions this year.
A special thanks to Rosemary and Michelle for capturing our journey with their great photography. Last but certainly not least, thank you to Coach John and all the parents who have tirelessly supported us at competitions throughout the year.
Thank you all, and we wish everyone a wonderful and relaxing holiday season.

Finished training for the year
That was a big year for our club. Seven new Black belts, 32 National Championships, Quarter Finalist at World Championships, a new International Referee, representation at Poomsae World Championships and at the 2024 Olympic qualification tournament, a new Master (4th Dan) to our ranks and the club’s first 6th Dan.
Congratulations to all those who progressed through the year, both in the martial art and the sport.
2025 is going to have some new challenges, but through preparation, training, and determination we will all succeed.
