…and now it is down to the athletes.
The medals, electronics, banners, officials are all organised. All we need now is the athletes.
Some clubs have talked about 20 plus athletes participating – please remember the tournament has a limit on entries of 600 – and it will be a first in first served basis. Mozhdeh Martial Arts NZ have already registered their club, so they win the prize (to be collected at the stadium) for First club to Register.
Item 1. Poomsae – Pairs and Teams change
One club has asked for same gender pairs and mixed gender team poomsae. This is not in the entry package. I am going to allow these entries into their own Poomsae divisions. If I am short of medals due to the entry into these divisions, those medal winners will be given medals from last years TNZ Nationals.
Item 2. Poomsae – Division 2 Black Belt change
Only 1st AND 2nd Dan/Poom holders may enter the Black Belt Division 2 competition. Competitors may not enter both divisions. The Black Belt Division 2 is to promote 1st and 2nd Dan/Poom holders to compete.
Item 3. EFT-Pos
EFT-Pos will be available at the tournament for payments to Taekwondo New Zealand (Registrations etc)
Item 4. Referee Uniforms
We are 5 weeks from some fun and games. I would like everyone to be refereeing in shoes (soft soled running or martial art shoes), black pants/trackies (tidy) (NO jeans or skins- so don’t ask or act surprised), polo shirt (NZ Referee shirt, or Aussie Referee shirt or Uruguay Referee shirt). It will be cold, so bring a jacket – but NO club jackets (includes Aussie and Uruguay).
If you want me to organise a TNZ Referee jacket ($80) let me know your size and I will get the work done (seeing my screen printer on Friday). As for design – who knows? – but once you see it, you will want it.
Item 5. Referee Dinner and Lunches
The referee meeting / dinner will be Pizza. Email Aaron (aaron.dean92@hotmail.com) about possible pizza and drink flavours (no alcohol, no guarantees). The TNZ Board are invited to join us for pizza.
Referee lunches (Saturday and Sunday) – if you have dietary requests, send an email to Hayley (storeyclan@xtra.co.nz) – but there ARE guarantees on this one.
